Internship - Chicago Yacht Club
Over a summer, I worked as a Graphic Design Intern for the Chicago Yacht Club-Monroe Station. During the summer, I worked with the communications director and the head graphic designer for different projects surrounding the club. I made invitations for upcoming events that were happening that the club, that all went through different changes so that they fit the style of the club. I also worked on Snapchat filters for one of the biggest events held at the Yacht Club. The filters went live during each event and were used by the guest who had snapchat. Keeping in mind with each design to keep the style and feel of the Yacht Club.
Welcome Sign Poster Designs
Here are some examples of designs that were uploaded to the digital welcome sign for the different times of the time at the club. The sign was also switched when events were going on so we had to switch it to match what was going on.
Photo Editing
One of the first assignments I was tasked with when coming to the club was to edit and add the burgee logo to each of the new menu items so that was ready to upload to the website for the menu. I had to adjust the lighting and edit the photos so the logo could sit clean and have the right spot to fit each time. Above are some examples of the images I edited.
Mackinac Snapchat Filters
One thing that stood out to me was the club wasn’t using their Snapchat account enough to get with a younger audience. There is a ton of kids that come with their parents to the club or grandchildren and they would all be able to interact with a Snapchat filter. So I brought it up to my supervisor and she had me stir all the designs for the filter. Above are some examples of the filters before upload.
